~ Steph and her sister, Kristin ~Wow !!! What a fun day full of mixed emotions ! We took our daughter to college today and helped her move into her dorm room ~ it was so much fun to be met with all of the upper classmen ready to help unload the car and alot of smiling faces ~ The dorms are small but we made it homey for her and then she was off for an awesome few days that they call SWAT ~ it is full of fun, music, food and meeting new friends ~ she is only 40 minutes from home so I am actually hanging in there okay with both girls being out of the house within 2 months ~

This is as we were driving away and she was walking to their first SWAT event ~ she is in the blue shirt ~

Lori,
How awesome that your daughter will be so close and in such a loving environment. She looks like she is so excited to be there! I also know how empty your house must feel today... I'm sending hugs your way. Thank you for your sweet post on my blog. It helps...
Oh Lori - It must be hard for you! Especially with both girls out of the house almost at the same time! Your daughter does look very happy in the pics. At least she isn't far from home - so you can see her anytime!
So bittersweet Lori..how great she is so close, but I'm sure she still feels far away to you:) Hugs to you and happy wishes to your girls!
Lori,
Felicitations on your new time in life... what an exciting time for you and your family.
As an empty nester my self .... let me say my daughter and I became even closer after she moved out...and we were close before...I promise it is a wonderful time of life...daughters never really leave.
May the Lord draw close to you during this change in your life..
Linda
Lori, Thank you for your note on my blog. It is hard to believe they are all grown up... I am really trying to let him have his space. I called once Friday and once Sat. Maybe I'll skip today...
Lori~ (()) You have had it all in one summer! Your daughters are very lucky to have a kind and caring mother.
Dear Lori,
I can relate to your bittersweet situation. Even though it's been 9 yrs. since my last baby (Sarah) left the nest, I have detailed memories of her first year and moving her into her dorm at NC State.
I'm sure it's nice to know Steph's not that far from home. She will visit often,(with laundry in hand..lol) and you'll happily accept her gift, and maybe in return you'll pack her a container of fresh baked cookies (and clean laundry)for her return to school.
Hang in there, thank goodness for our businesses,it helps keep our minds busy~
