A Day in New Orleans

I just spent a day in New Orleans with my husband on a work trip, it was quick but fun ~ we walked our legs off in the few hours we had to explore !!!
I just love the architecture of the buildings there and the colors are sooo perfectly shabby chic :o)

The homes were so interesting to me because of the shutters on the windows and doors that can be closed completely over them ~ I was dying at all of the amazing architectural pieces just rotting away on some of the buildings ~ I was wondering if they would really notice some of them missing (he he ! ) I figured that probably wouldn't be a great idea ~

The plants hanging off of the balconies were gorgeous even for this time of year ~ I loved the basket over the aqua shutters ~ the pinks, aquas, plants and gorgeous architecture just amazed me so it was hard not to look like a total tourist snapping a ton of pictures ~

My New Blog ~~~ I love it !!!!

I love my new blog that Shawn at Eclectic Whimsy Designs created for me !!! I think blogging is so much fun because it is a great way to share places, thoughts and people that I love and want you to see too ~ soooo..... it was definitely time for a blog makeover ~ along with the new banner and fun sidebar titles, she also made my blog in to 3 columns which I have been wanting to do forever ~ I will be playing around with the new 3 column format for a couple of weeks because I want to add some stuff :o) ~

~ My Favorite Store ~

I needed some time just to dream today so I went to my favorite store that I go to when I need to take some time away ~ It is a wonderful shop called Golightly Gallery in Texas ~ Here are a few pictures that I took today that give you an idea of how yummy this shop is ~

~ Victoria Magazine ~

I am so happy that I finally found a copy of the new Victoria magazine !!! I looked everywhere and was kind of having a hard time finding it at our stores ~ well.... I think we just got them after the rest of the world here in Texas ~ I know, I will be getting a subscription so I won't have to go through hunt anymore ~
Victoria magazine is a loved magazine and with such anticipation we are finally getting it back after it stopped printing in 2003 ~ The pictures are gorgeous, the articles are wonderful and it is just one of those magazines that you want to light a candle, pour a cup of tea and just indulge in ~

~ Paper Roses ~

I decided to try making paper roses because I just love them ! They look so real ( on the website, I will show you later ) that I just had to try them for myself ~ they are made from coffee filters and water color paints and are kind of hard to do, I was excited to learn how to do them though ~

I am having sooo much fun making soldered charms ~ We just started listing Christmas charms and some precious altered art charms ~ they can also be used as ornaments or as package toppers ~ Here are a couple of our newest creations but other new ones have been added daily ~
