Well it looks like California won't be happening this vacation soooo when all else fails, the flea market is always fun ~ well.... for me at least ~ My husband doesn't think it is all that fun ~
I just love to see what treasures that I can find ~ sometimes there are alot and sometimes there are just one or two ~ For the last 5 years I have gone to one of my favorites that was only 5 miles from my house ~ they sold the property so it isn't there any more but had been since the 1920's ~ I am so sad because it was so close to me and I always found tons of goodies ~

The one I went to today is every weekend and is about 40 minutes away ~ but it does have all different kinds of things to dig through ~
These are a few things I picked up today that will be on my website in the Vintage Finds category soon
~

Lori, I'm so sorry your vacation is not going to happen :( I have never been to California, and would love to one day - but maybe I should plan to drive :)
I was sad when I saw the property you mentioned was sold & that flea market is no longer there. I'm curious now, where is the new one you found that is every weekend? That sounds like fun - I think I have a better shot at going to something like that than Canton b/c it's such a big production getting to Canton with my kids, etc.!
You are so lucky to be surrounded by flea markets. I can't find a one around here. I have to live vicariously through you Lori. LOL

Sorry about your trip! I was looking forward to all your new goodies, I know you were too! Sometimes things turn out that way for a reason, hope you enjoy your time home, sounds like you are finding awesome stuff right there!
Love your things, love your blog!

Isnt' vintage shopping just the best? I never thought anything would ever take the place of shopping for clothes!LOL!:) xo chris
Love all the vintage treasures you found on your mini vacation. So sorry about the big one. Come visit when you have a second......Sharon K
So, sorry your trip to So. Cal. did not work out. The Central Coast is so beautiful. The drive from Lompoc to Solvang is one of my very favorites! This AA thing is really causing ulcers! My sister was just vacationing on Peter Island and found out that her AA flight had been canceled the night before she was due to come home...Terrible way to end a vacation.
What a trooper you were to make due by heading to the flea market...and what pretty purchases!

Oh Lori that is a bummer that you didn't get to go to California but the LORD must have a reason. He always does. You just weren't supposed to go I guess.
Our first flea market in Ann Arbor, MI is this weekend and I can't wait.
Hugs,
LeAnn :)
Are you a central Cali gal? Cambria is so lovely, my hubby is from San Diego. We live in Clovis(Fresno). Have you ever been to the Rose Bowl flea market in L.A.?
I hear it takes the whole day to see, I will be going in July for my anniversary. Fun for me...not so much for Hubby LOL
Lori, There's always wonderful little finds in your shop. That bowl is lovely. Hope to hit my first auction in about 10 years tomorrow night.
I can't wait. xoxo Cath
Sorry your vacation didn't get to happen.... when all else fails go to the flea market... glad you found a new one to replace the Southlake one.. it was sad when it went away....
Hugs

What beautiful treasures!

Lori,
I just found your blog and it's so beautiful. Everything that I love, too! It's nice to meet another Christian sister who loves the things I do. Also, I'm pretty sure I bought a couple of things from you when you sold on eBay. I'm moving south to Tennessee soon and can't wait...Texas sounds like a wonderful haven of antiques! I'll check back often! Blessings, Victoria Lynn
Oh Lori......I am sorry that you didn't get to go home for your vacation. I hope that whatever you have been doing (besides flea marketing) it's been fun. The flea markets here are pretty much all gone now too, as well as many of the antique shops and thrifts. A constantly changing market for sure~XO~ Janet
Hi Lori,
Such pretty things for the flea market. I just found your blog and I know I will be returning!
Kindredly,
Lynne Laura
I just stumbled across your blog and absolutely LOVE it! Too bad your trip to California didn't work out, but now you still have something to look forward to! You have to go to the Rose Bowl Flea.. you would love it! Thanks for all the fabulous posts! Keep it comin'!
Hi Lori, I love your finds! I love the pearl and rhinestones!!! I amreally sorry you didnt go on your vacation. You know I love that central coast drive and Cambria as well. I wish I could live in that area its so beautiful. I hope you get to go soon. I am already getting excited for sept.!!! pink hugs, gail
Hi Lori,
I know how sad you must feel about your flea market closing. We had one here since the early 1970s and it was awesome. It is two days and it used to take two full days to get through it all. We would go on Saturday and go back on Sunday to finish. Now they are selling off the land, bit by bit and the number of dealers are just dwindling to nothing. It just isne't worth the time anymore. We have another one that is over the summer, April through October, and it's awesome, but expensive. I go to that one for inspiration and I go to auctions to get the good stuff.
I love the pretty HP rose bowl you bought. It's kjust my style!
Hugs!
Christine
Oh Lori...I'm so sorry your trip was cancelled, but believe there's a reason for everything...Yea Michelle, AA cancelled their flights, that's the reason!!! Jeez!!
Well, you're definitely like me, when all else fails, run to a flea market. My spirits zoom high again! It would break my heart too if I only had to drive 5 miles and I was in heaven. If that flea market has been open all those years, you'd think someone would want to carry on the tradition!
We won't find a flea market in Williamsburg, but I will still be in heaven~ I can't wait to see you again, don't forget your PINK CONVERSE! xoxxoxo ((()))
Lots of pretty things! Love your vintage finds... as I am an antique junkie. I'm having a giveaway to celebrate the Grand Opening of my long awaited website. Stop by if you'd like!
Jillian
Sorry to hear about your vacation! California is beautiful...but maybe something else is waiting for you instead...
