Fredericksburg Texas, Girls Getaway

Ohhhhh what a glorious weekend we had in Fredericksburg Texas ~ I have been there before but I forgot how much I love it ~ It was just a three day weekend road trip for 4 friends of laughing, shopping, eating way too much, flea marketing, perfect weather and wine tasting ~ what a blast we had !!!






Fredericksburg is in the Hill Country of Texas and it is full of shops that are just the essence of Texas ~ we spent 4 hours just shopping on this one street there ~ it was so much fun !!!






One of my favorite things is lavender so we had to stop by a lavender farm and winery called Becker Vineyards ~ next month is a huge lavender festival which I would love to got to but maybe next year !! ~





We stayed at one of the friends in laws house and the view in the background is from their gorgeous backyard !! It is amazing !! Being from California, I had no idea that there are even hills tall enough to have views like that in Texas ~ It was a treat to stay there for the weekend !!! ~

Signs of Spring

Spring is my favorite time of the year !! I just love the warming weather, flowers blooming, baby birds in nests, new fresh green leaves on the trees ~ I love digging in the dirt of my flower beds planting new flowers ~ It is just the best !!!
Here are some pictures my daughter took ~ she has a wonderful eye for seeing the beauty in everything ~ they show just a touch of spring in Texas ~

Flea Market Sunday

Well it looks like California won't be happening this vacation soooo when all else fails, the flea market is always fun ~ well.... for me at least ~ My husband doesn't think it is all that fun ~

I just love to see what treasures that I can find ~ sometimes there are alot and sometimes there are just one or two ~ For the last 5 years I have gone to one of my favorites that was only 5 miles from my house ~ they sold the property so it isn't there any more but had been since the 1920's ~ I am so sad because it was so close to me and I always found tons of goodies ~





The one I went to today is every weekend and is about 40 minutes away ~ but it does have all different kinds of things to dig through ~

Vacation to California

Change of plans ~ AA canceled flights so we won't be going until they are back up and running ~

Tomorrow, April 9th my husband and I are going to California for a week vacation !!! I am so excited because we are from California and I miss it alot ~ Most of our family lives there too so we will visit with them and go to the beach and also visit some of my favorite towns like Cambria ~
I am going to take a camera and try to blog along the way if we have internet access ~ We are starting in Southern California and then taking a drive up the coast to the central coast where our family lives ~

Canton ~ Fun Day Flea Marketing !!!

I spent all day yesterday at one of my favorite places, Canton Texas ~ If you read my blog very often, you will see that I go every month because I LOVE to go through treasures !!! It is a giant flea market that has been there since the early 1900's or maybe even earlier ~ there are alot of new things in one huge area and flea market things in another GIGANTIC area ~
