Animal Print Bags

Besides crowns, skeleton keys and chandeliers, it was all about animal print bags at the Dallas market this year ~

At first I didn't really like them but they kind of grew on me after seeing them everywhere ~ This is a carry on bag for the airlines that I got that rolls, I really like it !





This is a picture of my daughters and niece eating ice cream with their new animal prints ~ don't they look so thrilled :o)
It was about 100 degrees and the humidity was high so by then we were all melting and tired ~

Tie Dye

My sister and niece are here right now from California so I have been spending most of my time with them and my two girls ~ we are having a great time visiting and shopping and just goofing around ~

My daughter's boyfriend made her a tie dye shirt ~ some girls on campus at their college were making them and he thought he would give it a try and then gave it to her ~ well we decided that we needed him to teach us how to do it because we thought it would be fun to wear them on our family vacation in October to Disneyworld ~ it was so much fun, we ran to Wal Mart and got all of the dye and T-shirts and became hippies for the day ~ It was a crack up because we were tie dying everything we could find that was white ~

Dallas Gift Market & Make Mine Pink Show & Tell Monday

I just spent the day at the Dallas Home and Gift Market ~ it is beyond HUGE and pretty much overstimulating ~
I ordered tons of awesome things that I cannot wait to get on my website ~
So what was the trend of this market ???

CROWNS ~ it was all about crowns, skeleton keys and chandeliers ~ I was sooo excited because those are some of my very favorite things ~ I also ordered some pretty vintage looking pink and silver Christmas goodies ~
Ohhhh and birds are still very very big ~ I love anything with birds too so I was pretty excited about that too ~

Awesome Appliques

I have always loved to take old pieces from flea markets and recreate them into wonderful cottage chic treasures with paint, distressing and one of my favorite things, appliques ~



I recently found some sweet appliques that I love ~ these are already painted white and have a distressed look so they can be used for so many different things ~ I just go the sweet frames in and I want to tie one with a big pink ribbon and hang it on my bulletin board just because it would be so cute !

Antique Stores, China and Sepia

Today I just had to get out of the house ~ It is hot so it is no fun working outside because in the humidity you just drip the minute you walk out the door ~
So I decided to go to one of my favorite antique malls ~ It is funny around here because some of the antique malls are dying with alot of empty spaces and some are doing wonderful and completely full ~ I can't really figure out what the difference is ~

I found some pretty china so I was thrilled ~ it is hard to find china with pretty roses, which is what catches my eye every time ~




When I got home I had to pull them out of the box and wanted to list them on my website ~ but.... I got playing around with the photos and had fun with sepia ~ I love the way that a sepia tone can make the photos look so vintage ~ I think my favorite is the photo with the blues ~

Canton First Monday Flea Market

Another fun Canton First Monday has gone and it was so much fun ~ My mom and dad and I camped this time in their motor home on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday ~ it was great because the motor home was a nice refuge from the heat and a great place to grab a bite to eat and rest during the day ~



It poured on Tuesday so we were a little worried that there would not be any one selling in the flea market area because it is mostly outside ~ but... Wednesday the sun was shining and the vendors started pouring in the gates and setting up their treasures ~ we got 2 good shopping days in so we were excited about that~
