Making the New Look Old

I just love these sweet little salt and pepper shakers and wanted to do something fun with them ~

Vintage buttons and vintage skeleton keys are some of my favorite things ~ So I decided to combine them into one sweet little vignette piece ~


I bough this Patina kit at Michaels ~
The first thing that you do is paint the entire shiny lid with a coat of the Blackened Bronze ~




The next step is to put a light coat of Patina Blue Antiquing Solution while the bronze coat is still tacky ~



Then when the lids are dry I fill them with vintage white buttons and tie the lid with seam binding and a vintage skeleton key ~

Trip to California

I haven't been around because I am in California visiting my family ~ They live in Central California and it is just beautiful !! This is where I grew up and I miss it sooo much ~
Yesterday we went to Cambria for lunch and so I took pictures of the gorgeous scenery to show you ~





This little dog was soooo cute ~ she rides on this motorcycle and they were eating where we had lunch ~




This is the view off of my mom and dad's deck of their house ~ I could just sit there forever ~

First Signs of Spring

If you have been following my blog for very long then you know that I love sunshine and warm weather ~ I am just not a winter weather person at all, for some reason, I am not sure why ~ When all of the winter loving people get excited about wearing sweaters and playing in the snow, I try really hard to like it ~



So I was happy to see the first signs of spring because that means flowers, sunshine, baby birds, new green growth everywhere and being able to open my windows and let the fresh air in ~

Canton Treasures

Well I was so happy to get pictures of some of my favorite Canton shops and got back to my hotel, downloaded the pics and they were all blurry !!
I was totally bummed but I am going to show you some of the treasures that I came home with ~

This is just one of the things that I have been looking for forever and finally got ~ I am not sure if I am going to sell it but most likely I will ~





After Canton I went to California for a couple of days soooo nothing is unpacked ~ I will add more treasure pictures as I unpack them ~
