Signs of Summer in my Backyard

Yesterday the kids all came over to BBQ and swim ~

It was so fun because it just felt like summer was here ~ I love

the summer and all of the things that go along with it ~

These are just a few signs of summer from my backyard yesterday~

In the morning I tea dyed some linens to make more pillows ~ I love being able to hang them outside to dry and it took no time at all in the 90 degree weather we are having already ~

I planted 5 peach trees a few years ago because I love peaches and they always seem to be yucky in the grocery store ~ This year 2 of the 5 have peaches and there are tons ! We are trying to get to them before the birds and the bugs ~ they are so sweet and delicious ~

It is so fun to me to go out in my yard and pick my own herbs so every year I grow some ~

Hydrangeas are one of my favorite flowers and I love the color of this one so much ~

This is Kirby after a swim ~ He loves loves the water and looks so cute all wet so I had to take a picture ~

Well I am off to fold linens and lace ~

Have a wonderful day !

I love the pictures of the linens hanging out to dry! You have some beautiful pieces ~ your pillows will be wonderful!
The peaches look yummy and aren't fresh herbs the best!? I have some too!
Your hydrangea is so pretty...I've had some trouble with mine the past two years...it looks like they might actually bloom this year. I hope they're as pretty as yours.

And oh my goodness ~ Kirby is adorable! Wet or dry, I'm sure!!

Hey Lori, I have so many peaches too. And, yes I too was trying to get to them before all the others did. So, I made a fresh peach cobbler last night and topped with blue bell, well it was fabulous! Happy Memorial Day, T BTW, I also have lots of fresh basil and my hydrangea bush is blooming away!

YUMMY! Nothing better than tea dyed linens (I'll bet you thought I was going to say Peaches! LOL) Although those look good too. I've got a back deck covered with trays of coffee dyed lace. I like a very dark aged look. Hoping your day is grand!

I loved your post today. You have some beautiful linens. I too have started collecting some to make pillows for the beds at the house. One day I hope to turn it into a B&B. I understand there are several loops to jump through and once you clear those it is a fun business.
Thanks for you kind comments of encouragement today.

Your tea dyed linens good awsome. Can't wait to see the finished pillows.
And the peaches look delicious, really makes my mouth water. I love fresh peaches.
My hydrangea look pityful. They look like little seedlings. I'm going to replant and hope for better things next year.
Kirby looks so cute and sweet.

Hi Lori!

That Kirby is a little character! My Huskies hate water, isn't that funny?

Your linens look just dreamy! And that pool doesn't look half bad, either! ;-)

Have a wonderful holiday weekend!

I can NOT believe you have peaches! On to other stuff...that is my idea of a clothesline...just the pretties!
I remembered in the middle of the night that I never answered you about stain for glazing...I use just regular stain (like for raw wood furniture...oak or walnut color)...I'm going to play some more this weekend. How is your hunt going?
Have a great weekend!

I can't believe your peaches are ready!!!!!! Mine are still green. Surely they are different types. How do yours taste? Love the photos of the linens hanging on the line. Reminds me of my Grandmothers clothes line. Oh things smelled sooooooooooo good back then. What kind of furr baby is he? ADORABLE!!!!!!!! Hugs! Charlene

Lori, that's what I did today too! Washed and hung my vintage lace purchase from etsy! I'll take photos tomorrow and more of the purse I'm making from all my finds. Don't you just love nice crisp, clean linens and laces! If you take a peek again on my blog, the eyelet on the bottom in the photo with the 2 eyelets was HAND sewn! I do fancy embroidery but have never tried cut work. This is an amazing piece! Someone spent a lot of hours on it so I'll make something very special from it, won't cut it up!

Have fun with your linens!
Hugs,
DIane

OMG Lori I want Kirby! He is soooo cute. Your yard is so pretty too. I don't have any hydrangeas yet. I love them but I am afraid of them I guess because I have never grown one! Silly me.
I have a birthday coming up so that is what I am asking for. I love all of your tea died linens too!
