Junkin' Day

Today was my monthly trip to Canton Texas where I junk to my heart's content ~

If you are a junkin gal at heart you would just love First Monday Trade Days because people come from all over to sell ~ There is alot of wonderful new things but my very favorite is the old vintage stuff and there is tons of it ~

Sometimes it can get kind of stressful because everyone knows where to find the "good" junk ~ Junkers mean business when they want something :)

One thing I learned pretty darn quick is that you have to have a cart ~ I use to carry arm loads of stuff back and forth to my car ~ that did not last long before I sprung for my handy dandy cute pink lined cart ~

You would not believe how many sellers drive up like this ~ I crack up when I picture them driving down the road, stuff has to fly off ~ Seriously how does it all stay on ???

Sweet Romantic Clothes

Today I was at the mall trying to find some cute clothes for vacation next week ~

You know there is something about being 48 and still loving the young soooo cute clothes but not wanting to look like a 48 year old thinking she is a teenager ~ Darn it anyway !

I was dying as I walked around the mall and the romantic yummy clothes were everywhere ! I love love them but got so overwhelmed that I ended up with 2 pair of sandals and that is all ~ The wayyyy cute skirts were all too short and the wayyyy cute clothes at Forever 21 were so crammed in there that I needed a personal shopper to mix and match something and to tell me if it was just a tad too short ~

Anyway here are a few pics of some sweet romantic stuff at Forever 21 that I saw ~ I wanted it all and ended up with none ~

I really loved this skirt but I am not sure I could pull it off going to the Post Office ~

Dryer Sheet Rose Tutorial

The other day I was tea staining a bunch of old lace and linens and decided to save the dryer sheets to try and make some roses with them ~ I was thinking about Barbara Jean at Treasures from the Heart's tutorial on tea bag roses ~

They came out really sweet and are super easy ~

Mine came out the perfect color just by sticking them in the dryer with my wet tea stained linens and lace ~

First you tri fold the dryer sheet lengthwise ~

Then you start to roll and put a dab of hot glue being careful to not burn your fingers ~

Keep on rolling ~

Then when you are done you take a needle and thread and sew through the bottom and then wrap the thread around the base tightly to hold it all together ~ sew through the base again and tie a knot ~

Fluff them out until they look good to you ~

This one I dyed pink with some food coloring ~

Vintage Lace Roses

It has been alot of fun making the little pillows ~ today I got on a roll while I was watching a movie and started making roses out of old lace fabric that has been tea stained ~ ( I am thinking that is a run on sentence ....)

They will be adorning more pillows soon ~

Playing with Picnic

Sometimes it is fun to play around with photos in Picnik ~

I love the look of Sepia and I love the look of Black and White ~

It is hard to decide which is my favorite ~

I guess it just depends on what the picture is of or what it

is being used for ~

This one is using the black and white and framing it ~

This is black and white with everything blurred except the crown ~

This one is sepia which is what I tend to lean towards most of the time ~

I guess because it has a warmer feel ~

You can do tons more ~ I love to use the collage which I probably do

a little too much but it is fun !

Charms

After alot of requests for being able to buy charms on our new website ~
They are now available !!

We have added some in our new Charm Category but more will be added soon ~

The charms can be mixed and matched to be added to your own chain
for a necklace or bracelet ~

Solder Tutorial

I decided it was time to do a quick solder tutorial with this sooo sweet bird stamp ~

So here it goes ~

Step 1: Cut out your image ~ one for the front and one for the back ~

The same size as the glass you will use ~ I am using 2x3 inch glass ~

Step 2 : Glue the front image to the back image and then place between

your 2 pieces of glass ~

Step 3 : Line the edge of the glass with copper tape ~

Step 4 : Press down the tap with a bone folder ~

Step 5 : Put flux on the tape or the solder will not stick to it ~

I use Simply Swank Flux ~

Step 6 : Use solder and a solder gun and line the copper tape ~

The solder will flow right on to the tape ~

Step 7 : I put 2 rings on the top of this one but you can use as many as you

want ~

Step 8 : Tie with ribbon ~ I am not sure what I will do with this

but it will be on a project soon ~

I have some supplies on clearance and you can also get them at Simply Swank
and it is all pink too !!

Pretty Craft Kits

I just received a package that I ordered from Angela Harris ~

They are kits that I am supposed to create with but they came packaged

so pretty I can't open them yet ~ Soooo I have them displayed

in my studio just as sweet as can be ~

I know I will have to open them soon though because

I won't be able to stand it ~

Sewing Vintage Postcard

I found this large postcard this weekend while flea marketing in Canton ~

I haven't seen sewing postcards, especially with roses, that often

so thought it would be fun to share for projects ~

Pretty Pink Package

I received such a beautiful package in the mail from a giveaway that I won ~It was full of yummi goodness !!
