Architectural Salvage Rocks!!

My youngest daughter, Stephanie

and her husband Noah just bought

a cottage home that they

are going to redo and decorate

in a vintage cottage style ~

We went to the coolest store in

Dallas today called

Discount Home Warehouse Architectural Salvage ~

They go into old homes and salvage all of the

really amazing old things and then

sell them at their huge shop ~

I am thinking that would be the

most fun job!!

Steph & Noah want to replace all of the

interior doors with old vintage chippy doors ~

This is the "door room" ~

There were some really neat old

pillars and columns but they

needed to find a vintage pedestal sink ~

They ended up with the one that Stephanie

is trying in the 2nd picture ~

Noah truly needs to be an

American Picker because he

rocks at it!!

Decisions .... decisions ...

They have a bunch of clawfoot tubs, mantels

for amazing prices, tons of old metal,

wood shutters for $10 each!!

Once again these are crummy pictures

with my Iphone ~ I am going to

start bringing my camera with me

on these adventures ~

Dallas has some really fun places to

explore ~ We went to some wonderful

antique shops too but they were kind

of pricey ~

Chat soon!!

I love architectural salvage. Those chippy tins really caught my eye. I have a friend with an enormous warehouse, and my heart races everytime I go there.

Wow, you are so lucky to have a place like that there. We have them in Ontario, Canada too but not like that. I love the oval tub against the wall. I hope you show us what everything looks like when it is done.

OH MY!!! I think I could of spent ALL day in there...and would certainly have a VERY hard time not buying up the whole store... : ) I don't know if I could really make a living going into old structures and salvaging old material...because I would want to keep it ALL to myself...Selfish...I know.. : )

I got your email...thank you so much..

Have a wonderful week...

What a great place, Lori! I see so many fantastic pieces. Especially the old metal pieces and the pretty bath tubs caught my eye. It's wonderful that such a cute young couple is going to use such vintage elements in their home. I guess Steph got her great taste from her Mom :-).

Wow. Cool place. Better than "Re-store" (sells used stuff for cheap then gives money to Habitat- if you don't know.)...Lori, you do not look old enough to have a married daughter! The two of you must look more like sisters than mother and daughter!

Oh man, that looks like so much fun...! What a great plan to switch out all the doors with chippy old doors. I have hollow core doors and i hate them so bad..
