Weird Day & Burlap Roses

Today was one of those days

that I was supposed to be

doing something fun and stuff happened

so I couldn't ~

So . . . I decided to go to a flea market

to make myself feel better

and out of the 350 booths

that were supposed to be there, according

to their website, there were maybe 6

with $175 chairs and shampoo ~

You know those kind of flea markets ......

So . . . I went to an antique store

for inspiration and a sale ~ There were

sales on stuff "unless marked firm"

and everything cool was marked

firm or wayyyyyy overpriced ~

So . . . I went to my favorite craft stores

and ended up with 4 pieces of felt ~

Hmmmmm a half a tank of gas later

and I got 4 pieces of felt !

So . . . I came home and followed

sweet Dawn's advice and

made something ~

It really made me feel better too :)

Charm Tutorial

I have been having fun making charms so I

wanted to show you how to do them ~

The first thing is to get a blank charm ~

Then you decide what you want to put in the charm as far as

an image ~ I used a little piece of vintage sheet music

and a rose charm that I cut the ring off of~

It is kind of tricky getting the image to fit

exactly on the inside so I just

measured the inside and cut ~

I kept trimming it until it fit ~

You can find tons and tons of images online and some are

already sized for you ~

The next step is to glue your image down and

then glue your

little charm to the top of that ~

I used jewelry tweezers to hold the

charm and place it which helps a ton ~

Then I used a product called DG3 Art Gel

( you can get it on amazon )

This you will use to fill in your charm ~

It may get little bubbles so you just

poke those with a paint brush or a

straight pin to pop them ~



There are several different

products out there right now

that work great to fill the charm in ~

The gel shrinks a bit so after it dries

you may need to put another layer ~

Give it a couple hours drying time

between laters ~

That is it !!

Cooking or Crafting ??

I REALLY REALLY need to continue my purging quest

but for some reason I have just quit ~

That is totally how I am ......

Anyway, so instead of purging I am creating more

disasters all around me ~ I just want to antique shop

and create !!

Isn't that what we are supposed to be doing ???

I actually have an office/studio and a big huge workshop outside

but where do I end up ........ in the kitchen and dining room ~

I really don't like to cook much

so I guess this is a great thing to do

in the kitchen :)

See how the island has a cute apothecary full of flour ~ Well

I am pretty sure it is just there because it is cute ~

My dining room table is a full too !!

I am thinking it is supposed

to be a place to eat but my hubby is a pilot

and not home much for

dinner and my kids

are married so it is a giant craft table ~

Works for me !

I do my Bible study here too :)

I love to start my day with Jesus ~

I have not gotten alot of cooking done

over the last couple of days but I have

had alot of fun crafting !!

Okay I am really really going to clean these areas

right now ~
