It has come upon me sort of slowly but I think it
has hit ~
My love of decorating with the color black !
I have almost completely redecorated my house in creams
and whites but I am thinking that I am going
to add some black accents here and there ~
Yesterday was fun because I worked with some
black and white ticking ~ I love how the colors
look with vintage rusty stuff and
tarnished silvers ~
I will be adding more to my website soon !!

Yesterday my girls and I
went to the Dallas Home & Gift Show ~
Oh my goodness to say that I LOVED
the style of so many places is a total
understatement !!! It was somewhat
overwhelming ~
Here are just a few pictures of some of the
yummy stuff !!
The pictures are with my Iphone so they aren't
very good but I couldn't resist taking some ~
There is no way to see it all
in one day so I am ready
to hit the road to go back as soon as I
am done blogging :)
Stephanie and Kristin ~ My babies !
Dang they grow up quick!!

I am reposting this from January because
I LOVE Drop Cloth fabric and am participating in
My Uncommon Slice of Suburbia's
I have been ruffling the world lately with
my awesome ruffler for my Bernina
(which I love too !)
There have been some wonderful tutorials
and ideas for drop cloths because
it is the coolest fabric with such a vintage look
and a great price !
Who would have known that drop cloths were good
for bags too !

Today is one of those random days where I do
nothing in particular but hop from
one thing to another ~
These are just a few pictures from
my day today ~
I LOVE these hats and cuffs all together so I
had to take a picture of them ~ they are a
special order and look pretty all stacked up ~
As I was working on these I was looking
out the window at the BEAUTIFUL Crepe Myrtles
in our backyard ~ Oh my goodness they are
so pretty this year ~
We have about 12 trees so I need to start picking
the blooms to enjoy some inside too ~
It is also a puppy walking day so my girls
and I took the whole gang for a walk ~
Between the 3 of us we have 5 puppies that are
Katie ( the one yawning ) thought all this
picture taking was a tad bit boring :)
Okie dokie back to my random day ~
Bye for now !

I just wanted to show you a quick, inexpensive
and super duper easy ruffle curtain ~
This is what I am working on
today so I thought I would
show you the steps as I go ~
Curtains like these have been shown in
blogland before but
I am not sure where so if
you know let me know :)
Ikea was my spot to get the curtains because
they are a great price and
the fabric is awesome !
They say not to dry them in the dryer but
I did and the fabric came out kind of like a
lightweight drop cloth feel ~
First I cut the white set to the length
I needed because they come real long ~
Then I ripped 2 lengthwise strips of
the darker about
9 inches wide and sewed them together
to get the correct length for gathering ~
Then I used my handy dandy ruffle foot and
pleated them ~ If you don't have a ruffler just
gather any way that you would like ~
Next I measured and pinned
the ruffle to the bottom
and sewed it on to the curtains ~
I left the edges raw on the ruffle
because I like them like that ~
For the ruffle it just took one of
the darker panels
so I have another one left which is tons
to make pillows out of ~
It would be cute to add another ruffle too !
These are actually for my bedroom but
I would love some outside too !

The pictures kind of look weird but
I was having fun in grittiness with picnik :)
Later today:
I made a pillow with the extra
curtain panel ~
I love the ruffles and rose
{I bet it was hard to tell I LOVE ruffles :) }
You can find it on my website ~

It was one of my most favorite times of the month
last weekend .......... Canton!!!
What is it about junkin' that is
sooooo much fun ???
Canton is full of junk places to dig
through stuff and
full of places to get beautiful things that
are displayed gorgeous!!
This month I went with my two girls,
Kristin and Stephanie
and our friend, Bethany ~
Our first stop was Laurieanna's Vintage Home
She has such a wonderful talent of making
her shop over the top gorgeous!
I am kind of
wondering why this guy
never unloads his trailer ~
I think I have taken the same
picture before ..... like maybe 2 years ago ~
See that fence gate wayyyyy on the bottom..... I want it !
I am not thinking that this bike cuts
it for my beach cruiser ~
But there were tons of them
and they would be super cute
in the yard with flowers ~
I bought some flowers here because she
had them displayed in old stuff and they were so cute!!
Two of the 3 girls ended up with puppies ~
We wanted to "save" them all but couldn't ~

I have been adding some of the things
I got at Canton and to my shop and
will continue to this week ~

I already can't wait until next month !!
